Donohoe Chiropractic is excited to announce a truly holistic approach to primary pediatric care. We are now offering primary care services for our practice members from birth to 12 years old. We will offer telehealth and in-person appointments to best help your kids thrive. We are here to provide well child visits, diagnose childhood illnesses, and provide holistic treatment options- by the doctors who already know and care for your family.

How much does participation in the program cost?

The monthly participation rate is $79. Siblings are an additional $34.95 each.

Can I use my insurance to cover the program costs?
Membership fees cannot be billed to insurance. We can provide a superbill that will cover procedure and diagnosis codes for services that may be eligible for reimbursement through insurance.

How will it be billed?
Billing is automatic with your card saved on file. Charges are recurring monthly on the same date you choose to sign up.

Can I pay for membership with an HSA/FSA card?
Yes, all services and recommended supplements purchased through our office are typically covered. Please check your plan for specific coverage terms.

Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Your membership will terminate at the end of your billing cycle after written notice to our office.

When are the doctors available?
Our doctors will be available via email between the hours of 9am to 9pm daily. In office hours vary Monday through Thursday with special circumstance appointments on an as needed basis for weekends/holidays.

Are there requirements for participation?
Your child must be an active chiropractic patient with an appointment within the last 6 months of the date of requested service.

How will my child's needs be addressed if we choose NOT to participate in the program?
Your child’s needs are of the utmost importance to our team, their needs will be met at our next available appointment time versus the priority scheduling afforded by program participation. Our staff will schedule the next available in person appointment or schedule a telehealth appointment as the doctor’s schedule allows. Standard fees for individual services such as reports of findings, review of records, or lab interpretation, etc. will apply.

Do I still need to have a pediatrician?
Chiropractors are licensed primary care physicians in the State of California. Our office will offer all the same primary care needs with the exception of providing vaccinations or prescription medications.

What if my child needs a prescription medication?
We would refer you out for prescriptions if required.

Do you have outside referrals for supportive services available?
Yes, we have collaborative relationships with many outside service providers and can arrange for services such as:

  • Sleep studies
  • Speech therapy
  • Feeding therapy/oral myofunctional therapy
  • Neurofeedback
  • Lactation support
  • Oral tethers support
  • Behavioral/mental illness
  • Surgical consults
  • Orthopedic consults in the case of fractures
  • Dietician/nutritionist support
  • …and anything else your child may require.


Can you write absence or school notes?
Yes

What is HKC's policy on vaccinations?
Vaccines are a personal choice. We respect your decision to follow the recommended schedule, delay or entirely forgo. Our doctors seek to educate and empower parents with educational materials purposed to give all perspectives on the subject.

Can you provide care for my medically complex child?
We can provide care for any child under 12 years of age! We may be limited in the types of care we can provide to children that have:

  • a developmental syndrome
  • regular seizures
  • an immune disorder
  • a very serious chronic condition

for children with more complex conditions, we can still provide acute care needs.

Although some cases may be outside of our scope of practice, we will provide necessary care and we will work with additional supportive providers to fulfill your child’s needs.
